The HAM-LOG GROUP does not just exist on paper; it has grown out of decades of hands-on experience from our owner and shareholder, Kurt Gerdes.
With over 20 years of experience in senior management, he understands the real pain points of logistics managers and knows exactly which levers to pull.

This wealth of insider knowledge formed the foundation when he founded the HAM-LOG GROUP in Hamburg in 2012. His clear promise: logistical excellence paired with legal compliance. Shortly after launching our first permanently managed teams, we backed up this quality standard in 2013 by obtaining our official temporary employment permit and joining the GVP.
A Hanseatic word of honour is our bond – from hour one.

We started as a small, focused team right there in the warehouse. From the very beginning, our goal has not been the mere placement of staff, but actively taking on responsibility on the warehouse floor. A handshake is a binding contract – with this Hanseatic mindset, we won over our very first partners.

Trust is good, certified security is better. In our very first year after founding, we committed to seamless compliance and obtained our official permit for the supply of temporary workers.
This laid the foundation for client processes that are fully compliant and legally secure.

A double milestone: our temporary employment permit is granted on a permanent basis.At the same time, the investment company of the Hamburger Sparkasse (*Haspa BGM*) joins us as a minority shareholder (25%).
Together with the Gerdes founding family, we are launching the next phase of our nationwide expansion.

The HAM-LOG GROUP is back to being 100% family-owned. Following a successful growth phase, the majority shareholder (the Gerdes family) has bought back all shares from Haspa BGM. We prove that we possess the clout of a major service provider while keeping the flexible, short decision-making channels of an owner-managed family business at our core.

Success is built as a team – and loyalty is lived at the HAM-LOG GROUP. In 2021, the company took a decisive step in its strategic development: proven managers from within our own ranks were not only promoted to the executive board but also became active shareholders with a stake in the company. Leaders became true co-entrepreneurs.

This transition from a traditional owner-managed model to a broader partnership structure secures our valuable practical knowledge in-house and strengthens the foundation for further growth. It highlights our deep conviction: those who play a key role in building the HAM-LOG GROUP should also share in its success as partners.
